Each Metaboly kit is compact and clearly labelled. Inside you'll find your collection container and a unique kit code — scan the QR code on the inside of the kit for step-by-step collection instructions on your phone. No clinic visit required — collect from your barn, your field, or wherever your horse is.

Receive Your Kit
Your collection kit arrives with a QR code for online instructions.
Different services use different collection methods—some require a Metaboly kit, others use specific protocols.
Each kit includes everything you need: collection container(s) and a unique kit code.
Detailed collection instructions are available online — scan the QR code printed on the inside of your kit to pull them up on your phone.
The kit code is how the lab identifies your sample and how you'll link it to the right horse in the app.
Storage and shipping guidance is included with the online instructions. Follow them carefully so your sample stays viable.
Collect the Sample
Gather the sample at home, barn, or field.
Follow the specific collection instructions for your service.
Most collections are straightforward and take just a few minutes.
Collect from the horse you want tested. Only one horse per kit.
Seal and label the container as instructed. Do not contaminate the sample.
Link Your Kit in the App
Tell Metaboly which horse this kit belongs to.
Open the Metaboly app and navigate to Kit Linking.
Enter your kit code (found on the container and inside the kit).
Select the horse profile that matches the horse you tested.
The system verifies the code against our inventory and matches it to your order.
This is how we ensure your sample, kit, and horse stay correctly connected through the entire process.
Ship Your Sample
Send the kit to our lab using the included materials.
Use the prepaid shipping label included with your kit.
Pack the container securely with any cushioning provided.
Drop it off at the designated carrier location.
You'll receive a tracking number so you can monitor its journey.
Processing & Analysis
Your sample moves through the lab workflow.
When we receive your sample, we verify the kit code and cross-check it against your linked horse profile.
The sample enters our analytical workflow for the service you ordered.
Your order timeline in the app updates automatically as it moves through receiving, preparation, analysis, and review.
You can check status anytime in your account.
Get Your Results
Results are returned to your app and attached to your horse.
When analysis is complete, results populate in the app.
They attach automatically to the correct horse profile and order.
You can view raw data, interpretations, and service-specific insights.
Results become part of your horse's permanent biological record.
